Introduction to Neuro-Vocal Method
The Surprise Method for Lifelong "Belt" Voice
Your brain sings before you do.
Train your brain, train your voice!
This course explores the neural networks that give us the ability to sing, and the neuroplasticity that can change singing. Exploiting the neurology of our essential vocal tones is the short path to high, loud, healthy, and forever singing!
I'm Meredith Colby, the author, voice teacher, independent researcher (read: nosey nerd) who created Neuro-Vocal Method. I'm excited about what I've seen this method do for my students, and thrilled about how it has helped voice teachers around the world.
I put together this Introduction course to rock your world a little bit. It explores the (basic) neurology of singing, the evolution of singing, and why making your peripheral nervous system work - in the way it already knows how - will get you fast and healthy results. I also discuss the Banana Split of Singing, why you should approach CCM/Popular singing differently than you approach classical singing, and where all these crazy new ways of looking at singing came from.
I've made this course pretty short, friendly and appealing (if I do say so myself) & super-duper cheap; no excuses, fellow brain nerds!!
If you are
- intrigued
- excited
- inspired
and you want to explore more, we can talk certification!
Who this course is for:
Are you a voice teacher who is classically trained? Do most of your students want to sing popular styles? Are you exploring the possibility of healthy “belt” singing?
Maybe you’re not a college-trained or classically trained singer. Would you like a teaching template to make you feel more solid about your teaching?
Or are you just curious? The notion of using brain science to teach singing sounds interesting, and you like interesting stuff!
Also, it’s guaranteed. I'm absolutely sure you'll be the next voice teacher who is completely jazzed about NVM. I'm confident you'll be trying this stuff out post haste. If you're not, if you don’t think these concepts will add to your teaching or singing chops, if you thought this was a different course, no worries. Just let me know and your fee will be refunded!

You're a neural impulse away from
healthy, lifelong CCM/Popular singing!
In my frigid log cabin deep in the woods, I read books about neurology by candlelight until I was able to see what all-of-us voice teachers needed. The piece that was missing.
After 20 years of teaching singing technique for popular styles (CCM, pop/rock, microphone genres) during the week, and singing with bands on the weekends, I started applying my nerdy interest in brains and neurology to my voice teaching. A whole-buncha books, articles, and papers later, and after hundreds of teaching hours, two hours in a fMRI, and lord-knows how much time talking with singers, voice teachers, and various health professionals, I came up with something great. Something helpful to singers. Something voice teachers could get behind.

No voice teacher wants to relearn
how they do
what they do.
But adding a little bit is always good. Neuro-Vocal for Popular Styles is that missing piece. It's the "as well as" that will get your students the magic they come to you for.
And then I wrote a book...
Money Notes: How to Sing High, Loud, Healthy, and Forever has helped hundreds of singers and voice teachers understand and apply principles of motor learning and neuroplasticity to singing.
The book is written for the singer. This course is for the teacher. Short, interesting, applicable, and will get you fired up to help your singers of popular styles!
